A good level of response to the Dragons Supporters Survey

A survey has been developed to gather the pre-season thoughts from the Dragons Supporters.  The survey has been released via the DOSC Twitter and Facebook sites and will also be sent to Dragons fans via the region's regular ezine publication shortly. Have your say at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/55MH2B6

We value your feedback and plan to act on, or have already acted on, some excellent practical suggestions that have been made including:-

- 'Group away travel would be very good. Also having a supporters club members area for pre-match drinks.'

We are currently in talks with the region over a DOSC member area within the WFAC marquee and will send a further update when we have finalised the details.

- 'Consolidate the social media approach via Facebook, Twitter and (what was) Dragged Up plus any new website so that same information or route for us to ask information from NGD is available on any/all platforms.'

We have streamlined our social media accounts to just one Facebook Group and one Twitter account, with both accounts being used to push announcements made from this site. All posts will also be made to Dragged up, whose founder has kindly allowed us to keep running going forward.

- 'Try to get a schedule of events for matches, especially away games if there is to be arranged group travel'

A list of games that we would like to arrange away travel to has been drawn up and we will announce our plans with regards to away travel in due course.

Thank you again to all those who have taken the time to complete the survey. Here's to a good season for the Newport Gwent Dragons!

Wales U18 squad shows strong player development across Gwent

development.png

Last week, Geraint Lewis selected 7 players from the Dragons region in the Wales U18 squad for their three match tour to South Africa. The Welsh side will play South Africa Schools, Italy and South Africa Schools A in a gruelling tour designed to expose young Welsh players to different styles of play, and to prepare them for U20 international rugby next season.

The Dragons contingent, representing over a quarter of the squad, consists of players from across the region and shows the strength of mini and junior clubs in Gwent. Many fans will be familiar with Jarred Rosser of Ebbw Vale RFC, who recently represented Wales u20 in this year's Junior Rugby World Cup, but the squad also includes Joe Goodchild and Christian Coleman (both Garndiffaith RFC), Joe Thomas (Penalta RFC), Owain Leonard (Abergavenny RFC),  Max Williams (Newport High) and Will Talbot Davies who is based in Solihull.

5 of the region's contingent combine their studies and further rugby development at Newport High School or Coleg Gwent, two of the region's rugby centres of excellence.

We at DOSC wish the young men of Gwent, and the whole squad, all the very best for their tour.

If you would like to attend, please arrive in the Bisley Suite at 6pm for a 6.30pm start. If you would like to ask a question but are unable to attend in person, please email us at contact.us@dragonssupportersclub.com and we will endeavor to have them answered on the night. Full minutes of the discussion will be published on our site after the event.

Can we also take this opportunity to thank all the feedback the DOSC committee have received from fans so far. If you would like to meet any of the committee in person, we will be in Rodney Hall before the game versus Cardiff Blues on Friday 12 August 2016. Lewis Evans & Ashley Smith Centenary Year

Friday 15th July was the first of this season's events in support of Lewis and Ashley's centenary years, in the form of a Hog Roast and BBQ, supported by the entire playing squad.

A great success, the event offered a range of auctions and raffles, and was a great opportunity for the supporters to meet the squad for the 2016/17 season.

The next event for Lewis and Ashley is the Pre Season game with the Cardiff Blues on Friday 12th August.  Details on event can be found here:
